Adding a cavity wall?

Potentially stupid question.............................can you add a secondary 'cavity' wall to a single elevation of a solid wall constructed house.

I ask as the rear of my house is really exposed to the elements and I get water ingress even though I've had the house re-rendered and it's driving me insane !!!

consider a Tanking /pump system like used in cellars ....internal :idea: OR tile/slate hanging "Sussex style"......external ;)

The most practical option would be to dryline, and insulate with celotex or similar. No need for a cavity at all.

No new foundations required, and the wall gets insulated too - to the equivalent of a modern cavity one too if you like
