I want to add a new radiator (towel rail) to my system.

I need to know if I can just insert a couple of t-junctions off each end of an existing radiator and connect up to the new one or do I have to maintain the loop..i.e. route through the new radiator and then back to the existing one?

Your new radiator/towel rail will need to be connected in parallel to the existing rads. It probably doesn't matter too much where you make the new connections (one on the flow pipework, one on the return, obviously), unless the pipe in question is less than 15mm diameter (i.e. 8mm or 10mm).
