Adding a resistor to a lighting circuit

Dimming bathroom lights, Im suprised some find this practice unusual. Most customers I find, especially women like to have a long relaxing soak in the bath, with subtle lighting.
I have a feeling that the author of that particular ‘advice’ may not share the cozy domestic environment that many others enjoy.

Sadly (for everyone else) Winston is afflicted with an inability to understand that dimmer knobs can be rotated in both directions. He thinks that once lights have been dimmed the people living there will be stuck with that level, and will not be able to turn the brightness up should they need them brighter.

Absolute rubbish. I know what dimmers are and how to use them. However the idea of sitting in a bath full of dirty water that you can't see properly due to dim lights is baffling. Particularly as we have things called showers.

As an aside is the bathroom big enough to enable the dimmer to be sufficiently far enough away from the bath to conform with the regs? If so how is the bath occupant going to set it to their desired level?

I take it the dimmer pack does the whole house and is not in the bathroom, however you do have a point, the dimmer will need a Selv output for the Dimming control to be allowed in zone 1 or 2

Do remote control dimmers not exist?
Use one of those in the bathroom when taking a bath in scummy water with wine glasses and soft moosick.
