evening all, next job on my list is adding two downlighters and another pendant light to a bedroom which already has one central light all controlled by one switch.
I've bought some 4 terminal 20a junction boxes.
I've run the cables from the downlighters and the additional pendant light so just need to connect them up
Could i take a spur from the original pendant to the junction box and then from that junction box feed the three new lights.
So run a spur cable from the original ceiling rose. Connecting its brown core to the same terminal as the switch drop blue core and its blue core to the neutral circuit cores. The earth core to the earth terminal.
At the new rose, connect the brown core to the terminal ‘live’ and the blue core to the terminal ‘neutral’. Take the earth core to the earth terminal.
Connect the live (brown) core of the pendant flex to the live terminal and the neutral (blue) core to the neutral terminal.
or feed one of the downlighters and the pendant from the junction box and then daisy chain the second downlighter from the other as they are literally 18inches apart at most.
the ceiling rose has 3 wires feeding it.
