Advice on improving exterior of house.

Hi,
The wife and I are looking at buying a new property that is perfect for us. The only problem in the exterior, which is a concrete pebble dash type cladding (see picture below). I've thought that painting it is the most obvious option. I just wondered if you guys had any other ideas???

What have the other houses around you done?

They are pretty much all the same! Some have changed windows and door from white PVC to wood, which looks alot better. I have done some research and I don't believe there are any planning issues that would prevent the exterior to be changed. Just interested to know what options there are out there.

Why not leave it?

Paint will only get dirty and could peel off.

And it matches next door.
