REF OLD POST: //www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=108196

The post i am referencing to mentioned wiring up various circuits onto chipboard for practice/testing purposes etc...
my question is would this be ok to power up up via a 13a plug socket - reason i ask is i am onto 2nd year 2330 and could do with the practice of fault finding and setting up circuits etc........

Im a plasterer by trade but have been a chargehand for a few years and moving up to site supervisor in new year, have a good knowledge on most trades however never understood electrickery so this was the main reason for study - very good site been reading for a while now.

yes 13 Amp plug would be fine..

that's all that most colleges use on their test boards..

Is the socket u will plug into be protected by an RCD?

While I don't question your abilities you should do what the college does and protect any test environments with an RCD. 10mA RCD if you can get one.
