Hi - on several of the washing cycles, the machine has not tripped into the next phase of washing, ie stuck in washing cycle. We had thought it was the heating element, but that's been checked and is ok. We wonder if it is a temperature sensor / thermometer as water not heating sufficiently and causing programme to become stuck and to finish washing, I have to halt the programme, and then select next stage.
Each phase works but not automatically - pump out / spinning / rinsing.
If it is the water temperature sensor (if there is one?) where can it be located?
If it is not, what else might be causing the problem?

Any help will be very much appreciated - thanks!

So now we're thinking this is a fault with the programme timer. Any ideas?

Hi, I am an ex AEG engineer (worked for Service Force as the under guarantee repairer for AEG)

This is a bit of a tricky one without looking at it, you may be best calling an engineer. Normally AEG machines will wait upto 30mins for water to reach temperature and then will carry on regardless.

However the stats are located at one of the following...
> If the element is at the back, then the stat is on back right side of the tub (if you are looking from the front)
> If the element is at the front next to the heater.
> May be part of the element between the two main terminals.

In most cases it will be in a large rubber grommet.
