Not something I've ever come across, but was thinking, if a modern boiler with electronic ignition (spark generator and spark plug) was fitted on a circuit that had AFDD protection, would the ignition process likely cause the AFDD to trip?

Or is whatever the AFDD measures different in an arcing circuit than it is to a powered spark generator? I suppose the same question could be asked for a gas cooker using a mains powered sparker

No. They're looking at the current waveform with certain characteristics, in particular there is a minimum peak-to-peak current for the arc event. The ignitor doesn't draw enough current to meet that requirement in the first place.
