:( hello, i have just taken off two rads in the house to redecorate, job done, put the rads back on, re pressurised the system, and bled the rads and also the boiler, so i thought. the hot water works fine, however when i put the heating in runs fine for 30 secs then cuts out and a hissing and steam comes out the top of the boiler!, is this an airlock and how can i sort it out, please help.

Are you sure that BOTH of the Flow & Return isolators under the boiler have been turned back on..... It sounds as if there is no flow at all around the CH circuit.

Try running the CH with the burner off for a while - the pump may eventually clear the airlock (if that's what it is). DON'T allow the boiler to overheat as you describe - it'll do it no good at all.

Yeah the flows are both on, i think the pump is working, it's getting very hot much like the water in the boiler and vibrates, but other than that it gives off no signs, any other way of telling?. also someone at work said it could be the diverter value, could this be a problem also?
