Alarm detector for a safe

Hi.

I am trying to find a supplier (preferably online) of an alarm detector for a safe.

The one I have seen incorperates a flap which which has to be moved to access the keyhole, and there is a vibration sensor also in the main body of the detector.

Ademco do one like the picture below, but anything similar would be fine.

a safe limpet is cheaper.

why not fit a shock sensor to the back of the safe?

it is true the third item down is a safe limpet yes

but thats as you can see is not what was initialy asked for.

What's a Safe Limpet, and why is it different?

limpet sits over the keyhole and you remove the whole thing to access the lock - with the slider if the alarm is set it locks the bar across the hole, both stop you getting to the hole but personally i prefer the limpet - the sliders main function is for the " timed access " sticker you can see on the piccy

a safe limpet is as the name implies, a limpet for a safe -

it has a "keep" that must be glued and screwed to the safe door (so you cant knock it off)

it hs 3 magnets as feet, these magnets hold it onto the safe, the keep is so you know where to put it, and which way round.

the best ones have the following.

shock sensor (incase the safe is struck)
heat detector (incase some one tries a thermic lance)
magnetic contact (incase some one lifts it off)
Magnet sensor (incase some one puts a magnet near it)

but they are not cheap, hence my first suggestion, no one will see it and any attempt to hit the safe and it will set the alarm off.

obviously you have a detector looking at the safe.

my mates mate said years ago there was a capacitance alarm made for safes, touch the safe and off goes the alarm, they were not very good.

Not really relevant, but on the safe in the pic, the delayed opening lock is completely seperate from the alarm system.

The slidey keyhole jobbie is just part of the alarm system. Nothing else.

In the pic you can see a non painted area where a limpet used to be years ago.

but either lipet or keyslide is more than a shock sensor.

unless that is you you want to make your own.

make a lever that is hinged and operates a microswitch

although to be honest the ley slide is considered to be high security, which is why you will find it hard to get one not to mention the cost
