I bought a 13 year old McAlpine home 2 months ago and have decided that its time to revamp some of the rooms.

Unfortunately it seems that every room (including bathroom and kitchen) have had wallpaper put up then painted on.

I hate paper as it bubbles and filling and sanding holes then makes the texture look different when painting on it.

Would you remove it if it was you, or could this open up a whole can of worms??

I will add I'm new to DIY!

Could be a can of worms because the walls might just be plasterboard, with the joints taped + filled. Like Most new builds there is no wet trades used ( proper plastering) I would carefully remove a small area inconspicuous - and see what`s under the paper. I bought a one owner car once - the owner was Titled - Sir Alfred Mc Alpine + sons ltd.
