Alpha 240E boiler No hot Water and CH consatnly firing

hi there :0)

I have a 240E alpha boiler , when demanding hot water it does not fire up , and is constantly cold , the light on the front panel does not come on either to show that's there is a demand for this , the central heating is also firing up and shutting down very quickly

Can someone please help me , I have look at other posts and they seem to say change thermistor , but I don't want o throw money at it and hope for the best
