An Extension light

I have a rudimentary knowledge of electricity but that is all. I want to fit a second light in my kitchen, on the ceiling and only a few inches away from the existing light.. Which wires do i run from the existing ceiling rose? Both lights will operate from the one light switch.

I didn't understand your reply but the link you gave to previous forums revealed a very clear diagram by Breezer, dated May 9th 2004, that makes life so simple. thank you both.
