Another water hammer question

Madrab,
If i recall the normal pressure is about 5/6 bar but is now turned down to 1 1/2-2 bar and the mini rester is fitted directly to the w/m with the hose that came with it which looks standard length to me,have not tried turning the isolator down as thought this would not reduce pressure just flow rate but will give that a try next time she uses it.
Buck51 and Madrab,
Had not thought about putting a prv close to the machine so will try turning down the isolator first and see what happens and if no better will whip the isolator off and stick another prv in,the main stopcock is easy enough to get to in a rush if something goes wrong and the missus knows where it is,plus its free to turn.

Yes, you are correct about it not reducing the pressure, just the flow, but if the flow is reduced, it may lessen the shock wave when it's suddenly stopped as there's less flow of water being halted. Only thing with that on a WM is that it may be timed for water into the machine rather than actual water level.
5/6 bar... yup, that's pretty high and no surprise you're getting hammer.

Madrab,
Just got off the phone to LG who's mc it is and they advise that water quantity it is done by weight so should be able to reduce the flow rate without any drama, fingers crossed.
