Any clear waterproof coating for plaster walls?

I have a bathroom for which it is going to be very difficult and expensive to tile. I wonder if there are any clear waterproofing coatins I could paint over the plaster next to the bath to waterproof it please?

Are you intended to leave the walls in bare plaster then?..and want to coat them with something clear?

If so you can buy a clear floor paint I think Johnstones do it as one of their specialist floor coatings range.

Acrylic glaze might also do the job

If you're worried because of water ingress into the grout then you need a tanking kit.

they're not the cheapest thing in the world but it will waterproof your shower area very effectively.

Google it and you'll find what you need. You can also do a search on the forum - I'm sure there'll be plenty of info.
