What is OK for insulation resistance for an appliance.

I have been testing my electric tools in my garage/workshop and found a lot of them are 1 to 2 M ohms live to earth Is this OK or should they be better, not a lot I can do about it though.

They are AC electric motors (lathe, drill) and a welder, I guess they are a bit damp this time of year.

It's only a few microamps I know, but is there a set limit to leakage ( I assume it's not when the RCD trips :) ) ?
Many thanks.

Regs currently say 0.5 MOhm. We use 2 Meg.

Bring them in, let them dry out, and retest.

aren't those the figures for IR testing fixed wiring?
