Are B&Q kitchens really that bad?

Yesterday we ordered our kitchen from B&Q it was the GoodHome Artemisia Midnight blue classic shaker. It is scheduled to be delivered in a couple of week's.

It was the best quote we received which includes all integrated appliances

However we are seriously considering cancelling the order as I was reading the reviews on the B&Q website on the carcasses base/wall units and apparently they are flimsy and poorly constructed!

Should we cancel and go elsewhere and pay that little extra?

Does anyone have any experiences on the new range of B&Q kitchens?

I installed the off the shelf kitchen around 15 years ago. It was reasonable quality for flat place and lasted very well.

I think any kitchen manufacturer gets mixed reviews. I have a Howdens kitchen in our new place and it is pretty good.

Wouldn’t hurt to have a shop around this weekend to satisfy you one way or the other

imo,
there's not much difference in it for cheap, supplied only kitchens.
what counts is who fits the kitchen?
dont ever allow in-house so called fitting teams from the sheds to fit your kit.
some teams are very good but the pressures from the bosses is too much for a decent job - hire someone local
eg a joiner or an all round builder who fits kit's.

Just fitted one of them and they're not great.
I ended up gluing all the joints and putting in extra screws as the camlocks were dodgy and made of very soft metal.
Also, the 3mm backing is seriously thin.
Fortunately I have my table saw, so i reinforced them with 11mm osb boards.
Overall, what you save in price will spend in labour.
I confirm howdens kitchens are decent and are ready built.
Benchmarx same.
B&q not my first choice, wickes same.

I was impressed with our Wickes kitchen (12 years old and still perfect).

The cupboard carcasses, backes etc were very substantial. Would definitely buy another.

It gets some hammer with my kids in and out of the cupboards but never had to refit or adjust a door..

Any advice/tips you can offer when assembling the units? Anything I need to look out for?

make storage space 2-3 days prior to items arriving.
using your receipt list then check every item as it arrives:
1. check for damage - esp work tops
2. check that everything is there

dont finally strip your kitchen until every B&Q supplied item is on site.
