Hi all

I understand that removing existing internal walls and building new ones must meet building regs, but before going to the trouble I'd just like to check that the work is actually notifiable, rather than just needing to be done in compliance with regs.

Work would be done on a DIY basis

Thanks for your time

Tony

If it's a partition (non-loadbearing) no need to notify. (Except that if it is a 3-storey house, you need to maintain fire protection around the staircase).

My mistake, intended to mention that the wall coming down is partition wall only - but in the kitchen, if that makes any difference
If not structural supporting wall, then you will not require to apply for notification.
That does not mean you do not need to comply to building regulations though.
