I received a message from a friend to say "the door came off and came to bits and I managed to put it back together and on, but I must have done it wrong as when I switch it on nothing happens, although the light comes on. I think there must be some safety mechanism by which it won't go if the door's open and it 'thinks' the door is open because I've put it together wrong! "

Any ideas/suggestions?
