Had a set to with a artex'd bathroom today, nothing , but NOTHING, would get rid of it.......enter the angle grinder and steel brush .....no problemo :D

Agreed,I know you already done it,but next time take care as you should never sand off Artex surface, as it creates a lot of dust, which can be dangerous.See this for info.

I recently had to take down a cieling which had that old fashioned low grade papery chipboardey stuff.
I recall my dad calling it beaverboard.
I suppose its classed as high hazard nowadays.
My sister and I constructed 'dens' out of it as kids.
Wheeeeze........ :(
