Hi everyone.
I am looking for some thoughts on this idea.
I have an old wall mounted baxi boiler which bangs quite loudly when it shuts down. I also have automated valves for the central heating and hot water. My idea is this:
When the thermostat shuts the boiler down, I believe the valves shut and the pump cuts out straight away. Presumably, along with any scaling in the boiler, this trapped water then boils off and bangs.
Would it be possible for me to get the valves to stay open and the pump to continue running for a minute, to cool the boiler slightly, before they shut down?...Thus hopefully curing the flashing off?
Any thoughts would be very appreciated. I am a little wary of trying descalers in case I cause myself biger problems.
Thanks in advance.
