I have a Boilermate II and Potterton Suprima 40 system and recently you can hear banging whenever you turn off a tap or the washing machine runs. The banging only lasts a second or two, but this occurs everytime at the moment irrespective of whether the tap is hot or cold. Any suggestions as to help. I wish I could add more information but I don't know alot about this sort of thing!

try turning your mains cold water stop tap down it sounds like it could be water hammer if its happening on cw and hw taps

Thanks for that. I have tried turning down the main stop tap that but the problem still remains. This problem also occurs when the cisterns are refilling. When the washing machine is on it makes the noise avery 10 seconds or so when water is filling, and as far as the taps are concerned it makes the noise when you switch them on now as well as off. From my rudimentary understanding it does seem like water hammer is the problem tho.
