Hello

The previous owners of our house fitted the bath about 2 inches from the walls and tiled around it. This has created a sort of channel which fills with water during showers and causes water to spill all over the floor.

Short of moving the bath closer to the wall can anyone think of a simple solution to preventing this flooding?

So far we have taped a length of shower curtain between bath and wall, filled the channel with flannels to soak up the water. I was thinking of replacing the shower screen with a circular curtain but I'd imagine water would still find it's way into the channel.

Cheers

Refitting the bath would be ideal option, you could build up the strip around with pvc trim [as used in double glazing]which would allow water to run back into bath depends how much you have to make up.
