hi i have taken the the light fitting down from the bathroom which has a cord and i could only see 2 red wires and yellow and green, how do you know what end to put the red wires as i here folk saying there should be a red a black and a the obv earth wire? on the conector inside has 2 holes for the red wires and earth goes into a plug in ceiling.

switch wire runs are often done in red and black ( or brown and blue nowadays ) because there are so few in a house it's not worth buying a roll of red and red cable..
If it's done as part of a large estate or by a larger contractor then they will buy a roll of red and red as they can use the leftover on another house later on..
