I have a 1 or 2 kW Dimplex fan heater to install in the bathroom. I intended to use an existing fused spur but have worked out it is fed from the existing upstairs lighting circuit.
Is it ok to use ?
Do I need a qualified electrician to make the connection ?

No as this would overload the lighting circuit (1kw = 4.2 A, 2kw = 8.4 A)

You need a registered spark to carry out work in a bathroom (or notify LABC if you did intend to do it yourself)
