Hello All,

I'm designing the layout on paper of my on suite bathroom.
Can an electric towel heater to IP21 be installed in zone 2?

The wall where I would like to site it is 60cm away from the shower (zone3), but the heater would stick out 10cm into Zone 2.
The fused spur on 30mA RCD would be on the other side of the wall in the bedroom, and the cable would come through via a cable outlet plate.

I have various books + the net, but I'm confused.

I believe it will have to be in zone 3 but just wanted to ask.

Many thanks, Alex.

As you are still at the design stage, how about a different make / model of towel heater?

I have installed IP56 towel heaters in the past.

60cm away from the shower is borderline Zone 2, surely?

Rob, is there a bathroom zones diagram in the wiki?

Like this, but without the confusing addition of Z2 around the basin?

Personally, I like the idea of that, but it is not 7671...

The heater is currently installed in our spare room, and is only a year old, so I would like to re-use it.

It can happily sit in zone 3, I was just hoping it could go in the corner out of the way.
