bathroom light fitting

:eek: Hi I have taken down an old bathroom light to replace it with new and although Im bit of a donut I didn't expect to find just three thicker than normal pieces of copper wire connected to old light no sleeves no red/black/green wire nothing .How do I wire these to a new light ?????

the same way it was.

your problem now though is you need to find out wehat wire does what ion order to put them back, for this you will need a multi meter.

oh and the new light is it suitable for a bthroom. i.e is in enclosed?
 
you say these wires have no insulation on them?

yikes...

i'd guess your house is in desperate need of a re-wire in that case..

Does sound like you've got a severe case of perished rubber.

Are these wires solid drawn or stranded?

:eek: they are solid there is no rubber on them
 
MICC cable maybe?????

is your place of poured concrete construction.. like a high rise block of flats perhaps?
