Bathroom lights - 3 on, 3 off - any ideas why?

I've got 2 rows of ceiling lights in diffusers in my bathroom ceiling. The row on the right all work fine, but after one light flickered and went out, the whole row on the left are failing to illuminate.

Replacing the bulbs hasn't helped, so I'm guessing it's perhaps a loose connection somewhere, but I'm useless with anything electrical. I've had a look at the connection on the bulb that flickered but it appears to be OK - is there anything I should be looking out for?

Some pictures of the connection below.

Apologies for the vague question!

most likely a loose contact. The lamps will be wired in a string, and it will be in either the last one along the string that works, or the first one that doesn't.

Unless they are 12volt lamps with a transformer, when it could be worse.

Somebody is going to have to look at the connections, either from the loft above, or by lowering the luminaires off the ceiling for access.

Turn off the power at the consumer unit. A light switch does not make lamps safe.

Ask around friends and neighbours for a recommended local electrician, or search the NICEIC or other trade websites for a qualified person near your postcode.,

"Recommended" websites are paid adverts and not a good source.

Thanks - so you think there's no chance it's something like the connection to the light itself, etc?

if some are on and some are off, it will be a break somewhere along the line. It's not typical of a junction box or a lamp failure, but it is typical of a lighting connection at a ceiling rose or equivalent. There will be some kind of connector above the ceiling.
