Bathroom Shaver Socket Wiring

Can see that the Regs. allows a bathroom shaver socket to be connected to either the local lighting circuit supply or to a remote socket ring via 3A fused spur - remote meaning not in the bathroom!

Q: With the ring, you get the added protection from the RCD so even though there's an isolating transformer behind the shaver socket, it's surely then preferable to come off the socket ring supply?

The shaver socket output is separated, so here is absolutely no point to having RCD protection, unless you worry that you might absent-mindedly start to chew on the cable supplying it one day.
