Hi, have replaced old 12v fittings with new, now have problem with lights cutting out. Am I right to assume its an overload as the 6 new lights are running GU5.3 50w. Will my probvlems be solved if I change them for 35w l;amps? Forgot to mention lights eventually come back on, and I cannot find original transformers or supply in cable to check these.

Prior to replacing new fittings and installing the GU5.3 50w, did you have this problem?
What were the previous lamps rated at?
When you say "cut out" do you mean it trips the circuit and you reset breaker or they come back on without any manual reset?

Also , have you rated the transformers to the load; you do not make it clear if you are using individual ones. You may also have heat build up tripping the thermal cut out in the transformer, or a bad connection somewhere . You really need to get this assessed professionally to avoid danger of fire.

What were the rating of the old lamps?

You'll need to search for and find the transformer(s) that are feeding the lights and check the rating of it/them.
Anything else is guesswork and we dont do guesswork on this forum.

If you really have problems doing any of this.
Take one of the 50W lamps out. What happens then? If two stay on and the remaining three go out then I would GUESS you have two 105watt transformers each feeding three lamps.
That would mean you will need 35W lamps, or change the transformers for minimum 150watt ones.

Hi there,
Since my post, the lights have not cut out at all. However, further info as follows,
Due to poor light, originals replaced, but on checking, the few "bulbs" working were mixture of 20w and 35w. On replacing and making good all connections, all 6 lights now working, without any cutouts etc. If I remove a "bulb" the others continue to work. As I have stated, I cannot find the original transformers, so cannot provide any of their details.
