Bathroom Zones

I understand a little bit about the Zones but do the Zones exstend above and below ie in the ceiling and more to the point the the ceiling area below the floor if you see what i mean. The reason I am asking is my kitchen is below the bathroom with down lights directly below the bath and shower.
