Hi All

Been reading this site for a while but this is my first post.

I have been decorating my living room lately and needed to take the radiators off to get behind them. All went fine until I re fitted the first rad.

I started to fill it with water again but forgot to keep an eye on the pressure in the above boiler. After a while there was a bang when the pressure reached 0. I re pressurised the boiler and continued to fill the radiators.

Ever since the pipes have made quite a banging noise when the ch is on and sometimes there is a slight whistling noise. I guess that this is due to air in the system.

Every couple of days I am releasing a bit of air from our towel radiator but not a lot.

If it is air in the system can this be sorted by draining the whole system and refilling?

Check the boiler pump AAV is venting and add some inhibitor

Baxi recommend Sentinel X100

Yes I agree AAV, Check auto air vent is open (on top of pump) chemical fluh and fernox inhibitor should sort.

Cheers for the quick response. Time for me to sound like a fool but what is AAV? Air Vent? I know nothing about Boilers.

Don't suppose anyone has a manual for one of these do they. You can't seem to get it from the Baxi website.

Cheers. Turns out the wife had actually put the manual in one of those safe places :)

Checked the screw on the AAV and it was open (gave it an extra twist though). How would I get the Inhibitor in to the system?

drain some of the water from the heating side and inject into a radiator
vent plug or remove rad valve and inject into flow or return pipe.
