baxi 105e instant cold tap problem

System is fine but when i turn off the cold water tap the boiler fires up. any ideas

if i turn the tap off slowly it does not happen?

A bit of air trapped in the pipe will make a combi do that - the water bounces a bit, enough to trip the pressure switch.

is there a bleed in the boiler?
hot water out or cold water in?

Has it done it since it was fitted, if so you probably have a dead leg on the hot water pipework which needs removing.

at first i thought it was normal but it is starting to get on my nerves.

what is a dead leg?

part of the pipework thats not connected to anything
ie old sink supply that has been capped off
