Folks, a guy i sub too (generally i only install  )sent me to repair a divertor on a 105e that he'd been called out to. The pin that operates what i presume to be the primary flow switch kept getting stuck. So new diaphrams and silicon grease latter all the pins move nicely.

My mistake was not to confirm the fault or check the boilers operation before the repair because now on call for heat , upward facing pin moves operates flow switch fan starts to run but before ignition spark etc the pin retracts killing fan etc, this cycle continues with boiler never igniting

Spoke to baxi they said check voltages at aps, so 24v between brown and black(should be 240v acording to tech) with the multimeter accross those terminals boiler fires up runs ok as soon as multi meter is removed boiler shuts off.

Tech have said sounds like the wiring harness has had it,so have any of the baxi guys or other boiler specialists come across this and does it sound feasable.

Aint got a clue, other than if you call baxi tech each day you will get a different diagnosis each day.

Wait for Baxpoti or poxi to come on for a professional answer ;)

I'm probably to late for the baxi lads but hopefully Tony might be on later.

Don't know if he's gone to installer live  If so probably having a curry and bottle of wine right now ;) I'll be joining him tomorrow:cool:

Thats the system flow switch!

If it retracts then of course the ignition sequence stops.

If it comes out at first and then retracts its usually just air in the system following your draining the boiler. May clear on its own or the AAV may be closed/blocked.

Did you remember to clean the return filter while it was drained?

Was having a very nice curry meal this evening at 2151hrs ! I am going to Installer Live tomorrow afternoon and perhaps again on Friday if there are not too many ARGI people there.

Tony

Cheers Tony,
the filter was cleaned whilst everything was drained, cos the boiler iso valves passed i ended up stripping most of the connections down and giving it a good clean.

AAV is open and venting and boiler and system were bled, but the cycle continued.

Why does it fire with the multimeter across the browwn and black at the aps, and why the wrong voltage? Ill be there later for more fun.
