Hi All,

I've got a pretty new boiler, model in the subject. Had it serviced last year, but in the last couple of days has been making a very high pitch noise. Can go on from anywhere fron 5 seconds to 30 seonds and then goes off by itself. It can be stopped by turning a hot tap on but only for a short while. The pressure gauge is between 2 and 2.5 if that makes a diference

Any ideas on how I can fix this? Everything else works fine
All advice appreciated

Thanks

Bleed a rad or use a drain cock to get that pressure down to 1 - 1.5 bar.

There's a well documented squeal due to an O ring/washer in the cold tap water section. It usually shuts up eventually

Thanks very much for your help.
Not being a plumber, what's a drain cock and where is it located?
I will also try and bleed a rad.

Cheers

Thing you put a hose on, probably on a radiator pipe, with a square head you need a small spanner for.
