I have an old Baxi Fuel Saver Boiler 55-60 (don't know age but must be really old).

This morning, no heating - reset boiler via green button then relit. Fired for a few seconds then went out - including pilot light.

Could it be the pump (forcing the boiler into overheat) or another control?

When I relight the pilot, I don't have to reset the boiler.

Are spares available or should I just get a new boiler?

Any help much appreciated.

I don't know a baxi fuelsaver, there were lots of glow worms..?
The problem is quite likely to be a thermostat, which wouldn't cost the earth so should be worth trying to get. There's a current version of things like that for most old boilers.
See if you can find a "GC" number on a plate somewhere.

Chris,

you are absolutely right. Should have been Glow Worm and not Baxi.
