can't see how to disconnect the filling hose?

undo one of the nuts at the end of the braided flexible bit. Expect it to leak, in your case!

The nuts usually have "wings" like these:

Thanx ChrisR, i think i know what you mean! If i undo the filling using the "wings" just underneath the black tap thingy, then that would disconnect the filling hose???

ok, tried that and u were right, it leaked. a lot. loads in fact!

even worse, i tightened it back it and it's still dripping!!

so i think i'm gonna have to replace it. is THIS! what i'm gonna need?

if so, is it simply just a case of switching the water off and unscrewing the old and replacing with the new?

Went out today and bought a new filling hose, fitted it and it works , no more leakage!! ( for now, touch wood )

damn your all good!
