Hi, our Baxi combi 80 HE plus boiler keeps stopping and having to be reset. Now its got the red flame light flashing and the green on light flashing and wont work at all. Before we get a boiler person out does anyone know what might be causing this so we know what to expect? We just bought the house and dont have any previous service history but think the boiler is around 5 years old. Any advice appreciated - many thanks

These lights indicate an ignition lockout which will be caused by the boiler not igniting this can be because of several reasons ! like no gas burnt out spark electrodes faulty ignition pcb or faulty ggas valve not opening :D

Hello gazthepottertonengineer, thanks very much for replying. They all sound like possibilities - oddly, the boiler switched back to normal later the same evening but I have noticed a small leak coming from the bottom and that the pressure is a bit low.

All points towards calling in a mechanic which I will do and hopefully get things running properly again.

many thanks again:cool:
