Whilst I have been at home this Easter I have noticed that my BAXI boiler is making a strange itermittent "fast" clicking sound. It only happens when the boiler is "off". The sound is coming from the electrical boxes at the bottom left of the boiler. They appear to be vibrating, if I turn the mains fuse (at the side of the boiler) on/off the noise stops.....but can and does start again at any time... lasting 2-3 minutes. If I turn the central heating on... everything seems to work fine. Can anyone give me an idea as to what the problem might be ?..

Just called BAXI Heat Team .... without even diagnosing the problem the minimum call out from them is £299. This seems very steep !!!.... can someone advise if they think it's the going rate ?..

That is expensive, but for that you will get a guaranteed fix from the manufacturer, first visit. This will include all the bits needed as well.

Depending whats wrong, could end up being the cheapest option.

As Dave says plus that also includes one years cover on boiler and controls..Sounds like PCB fault.

Or £165 from BG and these boards are approx 125 quid to buy

Funnily enough, just posted about another Baxi solo, if it is the PCB, get a re-conditioned one for £67, then send your old back to them and they will refund you £30, so its only cost £37 included delivery...

Yep !!! ....looks like it was the relay on the PCB. Changed the PCB approx £120......all seems good !!!...

Think i would have put up with clicking noise, if it was working
