Hi. I was servicing the above boiler and when trying to pull the phial and capillary tube out of the pocket they were a bit stiff and the phial (which is connected to the overheat stat) snapped. And the other wire of copper is only just held on together (which connects to the thermostat). But worried this will snap next time.
Obviously I know I'll need to order and fit a new overheat stat which will come with the phial. But can I get away with crimping the bits of copper together for the thermostat or will I need to order this new part as well.
Sorry for the obvious question but don't deal a lot with older boilers and wish I hadn't this time!
