Russian police always seem to treat people who are in a demo reasonably and not cart that many off.

Personally in terms of reports about protests I think it's best to listen to well established media that have reporters there. There comments are that the demo's are not that big compared with population levels. This is usually what happens in other countries even here. These reporters are used to looking at things like this. The fact that they can still reports is interesting and from Russia.

Russia just increased prison sentence for anybody being critical of the Kremlin to 15 years. That includes protesters, journalists, Youtubers, bloggers - anybody.

Easy to see why China and North Korea are allied with Russia.
