Bedroom doors renovation

Our bedroom/bathroom doors are all covered with hardboard, I had to take HB off one door and found to my surprise a really classy door beneath, problem is I am the worlds no1. D.I.Y. idiot, I know nothing about anything DIY.

So I am hoping for help from members if you would kindly chip in.

So far I've bought a sander only £15 but it seems to work just fine, I've filled the hundreds of little nail holes with wood filler and I'm waiting for that to dry before sanding.

How am I doing up to now? I have a feeling now would be a good time for some helpful input. Thanks in anticipation

you are going in the right direction. carry on with the sanding and when smooth spot prime any bare areas then undercoat and finish coat. recommend a water based system so that the finish coat doesn't yellow (if painting white).
