Belt adjustment after brush replacement

After replacing the brushes on my boche 3030 the machine now makes a sort of squeaking noise especially when on its slow tumble just after setting it away. I have tightened the belt and the noise stopped ... however I need to know how much movement there should be when its right.At the moment its VERY tight ( but Quiet ) If I leave it like that can the bearings be affected?

yes leave it like that ,and no it wont affect the bearings ,only if you overload the mc will bearings go .
