i'm going to board up a large double-glazed window (about 1700 high by about 1200 wide, two PVC panes sash window-style) so I can build a big built-in cupboard in front. It doesn't have to look great as it'll be inside a cupboard, but I don't want damp in the cupboard. My plan:
- Frost the glass with stick on film to make it look ok on the outside.
- then pack rest of window cavity with insulation
- then cover over with MDF or plasterboard
Anybody know the best way to do this? Or the best insulation for the job (have probably got about 70mm or so)? And whether plasterboard or MDF would be best for the outer layer. Rest of room being skimmed so could get a skim over plasterboard too.
Thanks.
