For the first time ever, I have had to return something bought on ebay.

It is going to be replaced according to the seller.

Is there anyway to protect myself 100% from claims the tablet was not returned?

Just an idea...

Insure the item with Royal Mail Special Delivery then if it 'goes missing' you claim against Royal Mail. They can then argue with the seller about receipt...

Seller will soon wise up if The Post Office believe he's a lying twonk and start refusing to deliver...

You remember all that help and advice I gave you when you asked about your mobile?

Thanks, Boz.

What is the correct procedure for returning an item?

Normally the seller will advise you to return the item and will refund the postage (up to a set amount) If you choose a more expensive method you may be out of pocket but, in this case, I think it would be worth the extra few bob to use Special Delivery. For details, have a gander at The Royal Mail site where it explains all.

TBH, I haven't used fleabay for years but I do have occasion to return items via Mail so use whatever service is appropriate in the context. You can just use 'signed for' and track it but the special will give you added insured cover.

We can collect via Argos - why not return via Argos? lol
