the boiler does not fire up when the upstairs water runs unless you run the bath too.I'm waiting for the diaphram etc to be looked at but now the boiler has started locking out .Is this all part of the same problem?

Do you mean overheating or flame lockout?

He means is it an ignition lockout with the red light coming on?

If it is then its fan/APS/venturi/ign-pcb.

All CORGI jobs though !

if its flame lockout is that a similar job? and is the lockout coming from the dhw problem i mentioned first. The boiler resets for a while then locks out again-the light that comes on is orange if that makes any difference.

It sounds as though the boiler is at best in desparate need of a service, at worse you have a severe clog in the fan/flueway/somewhere.

Get a CORGI guy round to give it a good once over. Gas should never burn a yellow flame.

When you reset the lockout does the ignition cycle start with the burner light on or off (green light on panel) and does the boiler fire up and then lockout or lockout straight away ?
Is the green panel light flashing fast or once every few seconds ?

Um..wrong boiler mate

Was looking at two screens  - but the point is still valid... Hang on, I was lookiing at the right screen... VOTM needs reading lessons...

the boiler now keeps locking out totally,no dhw,no heating and just a day before it was going to be looked at.Is all this because of the diaphram -seems strange?????

The diaphragm has no connection with the flame failure lockout.

Your boiler has two problems!
