The boiler is 9 year old BIASI S.p.A Model no: 24S.

Only way to have hot water is when the central heating is firing, and then the water is only as hot as the central heating is set.
Any ideas as to what can be causing this?
Also, the slider switch for the central heating timer does not stop on Constant . It slides over to the left but does not stop there. it works if you hold it on constant. Don't know if this is related?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

The diverter valve is failed.

Totaly seperate is an apparent fault with the slide switch on the time clock.

Thanks Tony,

Any idea of the cost of the diverter valve and is this a diy job or would this need a corgi?

Thanks

You can just replace the diaphragm which is very easy to do, you need to isolate and drain the DHW side of the boiler and the rest is simple.
Part Number BG 1011 102 GC number E07 217
But it could also be the flow switch or the complete valve that is faulty, the diaphragm is the cheapest so start there.

Isolate the electrics first, and cover the control panel with clingfilm just to be safe.

You dont touch anything to do with gas, only water
