Black and Decker GL350 electric strimmer other guage line ?

has anyone tried using different guage line for this strimmer, as the ones
that your supposed to use snap to easy, i used to have an older model
similar black n decker and i could use any line i wanted tight fit but it worked fine. havent tried it on this model, reason because i can pick
up this gl350 for a tenner.

Had exactly the same problem, tried a bigger line, same problem, it looks like the capstan has a design fault to me. Older models in the range don't have this problem, unfortunately, the motor disintegrated.
