Blocking off internal door

OK, I accept that this is probably the dumbest question ever , but....

I'm blocking off an internal door, within a block wall. There are a couple of pipes mounted on the wall about an inch from the door. I've removed the architrave carefully, but do I need to remove the door frame or not before adding noggins?

Thats likely to be a lot more destructive, and possibly affect the pipes, or the plaster under them....

Would an alternative be to build a stud partition and fit to the doorframe rather than the wall, and fix the plasterboard to that?

Hope you can help - the missus sprung this one on me this morning...

Come across this many times in old buildings. There isn't really any benifit removing the door and frame if you have the space to get some sort of timbers in to fix the plaster board to. I've come across blocked up doorways with the door and all its furnature , including the key still in the lock simply boarded over.
Leave the whole lot there and then when the missus says one day "I think we should have that door back again" 'tis but a simple job
