Blue Alkathene or MDPE pipe bores

Ive seen somewhere that 28mm or 35mm alkethene or mdpe water pipes
have ID bores of much less than 28 or 35mm. Is this correct?

Of course it's less - the gauge of metric pipe defines the outside diameter.

Measuring the section of 32mm MDPE on my desk, I can see that the ID is about 25.5mm.
